Peter was a great friend to Mere Sands Wood and to Lancashire Wildlife Trust he was both Chair and Vice Chair of Friends of Mere Sands Wood for many years and a friend to staff and volunteers. He was a great birder, amateur naturalist, and enthusiast for the natural environment. His contribution to bird recording at Mere Sands has been very significant and his wise council greatly valued. He is and always will be a part of the history of the site, he leaves behind a long-lasting legacy and will be missed.
